SCA R&D Centre is responsible for research and development for the business groups SCA Forest Products and SCA Packaging Europe.

For SCA Forest Products, focus is on publication papers and pulp products. For SCA Packaging Europe, the R&D activities are directed towards the Containerboard operations and Packaging Solutions.

Another essential component of the R&D efforts is to establish and maintain contacts with external research organisations.

SCA R&D Centre is located in well-equipped facilities adjacent to the Mid Sweden University campus in Sundsvall. We cooperate closely and share some of the resources with Fiber Science and Communication Network (FCSN). The close links between product-oriented and academic research is mutually beneficial. The cooperation increases the availability of the competence base and facilitates recruitment for the operations.
