Our concern for the environment is translated
into a guiding policy and a strategy.
|

| |
| |
SCA's environmental policy
is based on the following principal points:
|

|
| - |
SCA assumes responsibility
for the environment. |
| - |
All decisions must
include environmental considerations. |
| - |
Environmental responsibility
shall be a natural aspect of all operations. |
| - |
Information about SCA's
environmental efforts shall be open and freely available. |
| - |
SCA's environmental
initiatives shall be characterized by continuous improvement
and review. |
| - |
SCA shall meet customer
expectations of environmentally sound products and actively
disseminate information aimed at stimulating demand for these
products. |
| |

Forest Products' fiber strategy |
 FSC
certification forms only one part of SCA Forest Products'
fiber and environmental strategy. Our fiber strategy means
that we use only forest fiber in our Swedish mills situated
close to SCA's large forestry holdings. At our UK mill, close
to London's many consumers of paper products, we use 100 percent
recycled fiber, and at our mill in Laakirchen, Austria, which
is situated close to both forestry resources and recycled
fiber, we use a mixture of the two.
We produce and use only TCF pulp (Totally Chlorine Free) and
all of our mills are certified in accordance with ISO 14001.
We take a holistic view when seeking the paths by which to
continually improve our environmental work.
